Play It Forward: Broadway Elementary
Bringing a new playground to life is a journey! It often takes 2 to 3 years of planning, collaboration, and dedication. For some children it will be a place to play and grow, for others it will be a shared space that strengthens community bonds, and for many it will become a legacy that reflects the heart of our neighborhood. Broadway PTO began thinking and talking about a new playground over the last 2 years and started fundraising, and this year a dedicated playground committee is moving forward with new momentum!

Community Engagement, Fundraising & Grant Timeline for Broadway
Community Outreach & Engagement
• The playground committee has held meetings with key school district stakeholders to discuss School District 51's involvement & contributions. The committee has collaborated with the playground company Summit Recreation with multiple site visits to evaluate current playground structures, available space and design options.
• The playground committee sent out a student survey last school year to ensure students have a voice in shaping the new playground. The feedback gathered provided valuable insights into how students use the current equipment and what they hope to see in a future playground.
